MUSICIAN/COMPOSER BT CREATES
TOMMY LEE GOES TO COLLEGE FOR NBC
BT, known internationally as a pioneering recording artist, music producer and film composer, has extended his list of career accomplishments to television production. The entrepreneurial musician known for inventing trance music created and is executive producing Tommy Lee Goes to College, which premieres Tuesday, August 16 on NBC. BT will also provide the score to the six-episode reality show.
The series follows Motley Crue's Tommy Lee as he enrolls in college after two decades of bona-fide rock stardom that included sold out stadiums, years of notorious hard-partying and romances with the world's most celebrated women. Lee enrolls at the University of Nebraska at Lincoln and we watch as he balances academics and extra-curricular activities, adjusts to having a roommate and struggles to focus on his studies with his distractingly attractive tutor.
Known to consistently balance creative and memorable songwriting, sonic innovation and the latest technology, he has crafted hooks for Britney Spears and *NSYNC and or remixed tracks for Sarah McLachlan, Tori Amos, Madonna and Seal, among others.
BT's mix of epic and classically inspired journeys and beats became a genre known as trance, and became on the most popular and dominant sounds heard in clubs from London to Tokyo and New York. He has released the epic albums "IMA," "ESCM" and the wildly diverse "Movement in Still Life," featuring the hit single "Never Gonna Come Back Down." "Emotional Technology" spawned his biggest single, "Somnambulist (Simply Being Loved)," on which he sang.
BT
has also gained the reputation as a talented and versatile film composer.
He scored movies such as the blockbuster hit The Fast and the Furious,
as well as Go, Under Suspicion and the critically acclaimed Monster.
Next up for him is Rob Cohen's Stealth, starring Jamie Foxx, Jessica
Biel and Josh Lucas, a song for which he is collaborating with David
Bowie.
